A Fruitvale woman who suffered a gunshot wound to the head last week is reported to be awake and stable but still in serious condition.
RCMP say their investigating is continuing, but they don’t have anyone in custody at the moment.
RCMP say they were notified early March 27 that the woman had been admitted to Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail.
The man who dropped her off left the scene. Police say they seized a vehicle from the hospital parking lot and then located and arrested the man downtown. He was held in custody overnight but has since been released pending further investigation.
Police say think think they know what happened but they are still collecting evidence to present to Crown counsel.
