An evacuation order was reduced to an alert this weekend near the Deer Creek Wildfire. It includes properties north from Renata Ferry Road on Broadwater road and Deer Creek Forest Service Road.
The BC Wildfire Service has advised the Regional District of Central Kootenay that the imminent danger due to the fire has diminished. However, residents and visitors in the area should remain prepared to evacuate if required. The entire alert area also includes properties south from Renata Ferry Road to Cayuse Creek.
