ICBC says it’s received approximately 2500 claims related to the Trail acid spills and a team of 30 staff have been dedicated to work on the file. ICBC says they are complex claims that take extra time to process as each vehicle may have been exposed to varying degrees of sulphuric acid. ICBC is obligated to inspect each vehicle to ensure claims are legitimate. Claims are still being processed and at this time it’s still too early to provide an estimated loss.
