Spring Fling Trail

We are pleased to announce that tickets are NOW ON SALE TO THE COMMUNITY FOR A LIMITED TIME for the Friday evening meet & greet at the legion and Saturday dinner at the Cominco arena. There are also events in downtown Trail (parade and performances) that are FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC on Saturday.
For Saturday evening, entry is $40 and includes a full Italian dinner.
We also have a few remaining 50/50 tickets available for sale.
For tickets to the events or 50/50 tickets (if you haven’t already reserved yours through one of the participating bands), please message me and we can arrange an e-transfer.
PLEASE NOTE THE TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE FOR A LIMITED TIME AS WE NEED TO GET FINAL NUMBERS TO THE CATERERS SO PLEASE REACH OUT ASAP.
A detailed schedule of events is shown below. Note all times are approximate.
Friday May 3rd
  • 5:30pm – Meet and Greet at Legion. Arrival/Dinner. People can start arriving at the Trail Royal Canadian Legion Branch #11 (2141 Columbia Ave).
  • 6:45pm – Pipe Major Meeting. This is where the order of the bands for Saturday’s events will be drawn and outstanding items discussed.
  • 7:00pm – Solo/Duet Competition will start. Sign up either that night or prior to by email to [email protected].
  • 9:00pm/9:30pm – Awards for Solo/Duet Competition. This will be dependent on the number of entries.
Saturday May 4th – Parade and Public Performances – Free and Open to the public.
Parking is free downtown on Saturdays.
Please Park on the street and not in the Fortis Building Parking lot as this will be the Bands mustering tune up area etc.
Washrooms will be available at the Trail Public Library as well as 2 Porta Potty’s, one at each end of the Parade route.
  • 9:30am – Parade steps off with the first band. Parade start is at the corner of Eldorado Street and Bay Avenue. Each band will march individually for the length of the parade (approx. 2 blocks) to the Trail Public Library along the Esplanade. Dress and Deportment will be judged during the individual band portion. Bands will then make there way back to the Fortis Building parking lot via Bay Avenue. Once all the bands have marched the route and are back at the Fortis Building they will form up for the massed band. Full details will be provided at the Pipe Majors Meeting.
  • 11:30 – Performance/Competition. This is also happening at the Esplanade. Bands will perform in the same order as the parade. Full details will be provided at the Pipe Majors Meeting. We are hoping to have the D/D and Medley competition done and then the bands can go for lunch in town and enjoy the rest of the day at their leisure.
  • Some of the many eating establishments in town are The Arlington Bar & Grill, A&W, McDonald’s, Dairy Queen, Subway, Kootenay Kabob, Doorway Coffee Shop. Possibly the Bridgeview Cafe on the Esplanade.
Ceilidh/Dinner (Trail Memorial Centre) – Saturday evening events by admission only (tickets must be purchased in advance, no tickets on sale at the door)
  • Doors open at 4:00pm. Drink tickets (cash only) will need to be purchased for the bar.
  • We will also have many raffle items. Tickets (cash only).
  • Dance Competition begins at 4:30pm. Bands will perform in the same order as above.
  • 50/50 ticket draw.
  • Dinner is at 6:00pm.
  • Skit Competition begins at 7:15pm. Bands will perform in the same order as above.
  • Trail Pipe Band performance is at 8:45pm.
  • Awards at 9:15pm.
