Nakusp mayor Tom Zeleznik will be back for another term. He was unopposed when the nomination deadline closed this afternoon.
But residents will get to pick from nine candidates for village council, including incumbents Dolly Edwards, Tina Knooihuizen, and Aidan McLaren-Caux, as well as former councillors Joseph Hughes, Cameron Leitch, and Ken Miller. They are joined by newcomers David Dudar, Tania Quigley, and Michele Williams.
In addition to running for council, Knooihuizen is running for director of Area K of the Regional District of Central Kootenay. It is possible to serve in both roles simultaneously.
General voting day is Oct. 17.
