Kootenay Columbia school district: Entire board acclaimed

There will be no election in the Kootenay-Columbia school district this year. All nine trustees of the district that serves Castlegar, Trail, Rossland, and the Beaver Valley have been acclaimed.

Eight of the nine are incumbents: Darrel Ganzert and Darilyn Simister (Beaver Valley), Birkley Valks and Catherine Zaitsoff (Castlegar), Kristin Ali (rural Castlegar), Terry Hanik and Mark Wilson (Trail), and Gordon Smith (Rossland).

The lone new face will be Kendra Mann, representing Warfield and certain rural areas. Mann will actually replace Simister, who previously represented that area.

Beaver Valley trustee Stephen Piccolo is not seeking re-election.
