Nakusp RCMP say one of “British Columbia’s most wanted” has been arrested at a home in the Fauquier area.
Robin Bousquet was wanted for parole violation. Police in the Okanagan issued a request for the public’s help locating him at the start of the month.
Police say they were tipped off Saturday night that Bousquet was on the Arrow Lakes. This morning they went to the home where he was believed to be staying and arrested him without incident.
Bousquet will be returned to a federal prison to serve his remaining sentence for robbery and numerous break and enters, although it wasn’t clear how long he has left to serve. He had been on statutory release, which is granted to prisoners after completing two-thirds of their sentence.
In a news release, Cpl. Thomas Gill said the general public over the last few weeks has been “instrumental in assisting” officers locate and arrest offenders for serious offences.
“Members are very appreciative for their assistance,” he said.
