An evacuation alert has been rescinded for Edgewood. The Regional District of Central Kootenay says this comes with recommendation from the BC Wildfire Service, regarding the Mount O’Leary wildfire. The alert was issued on August 23 as a precautionary measure and affected the area north of Worthington Creek, all of Edgewood and the south portion of Needles.
