A home for abused and neglected farm animals in the Slocan Valley is now caring for two bull calves.
Patricia Smuga of Cici Life Sanctuary in Winlaw says they came from a local dairy.
One was less than a week old and infected with parasites.
Smuga says they’ve taken him for surgery but they don’t know if the leg can be saved.
The sanctuary started this summer and is now up to about 40 animals.
She says they could still use donations and volunteers.
