Protein 4 People project comes to West Kootenay

People who may not get the protein they need can enjoy a free salmon dinner tonight in Nelson.

West Kootenay Labour Council president Debbie Bird says they’ve teamed up with Selkirk College to put it on.

Bird says they’re prepared to feed up to 300 people in recognition of the International Day to Eradicate Poverty.

It’s also sponsored by the Protein 4 People project and goes at the Tenth Street campus at 6 p.m.

Free tickets are available through the Community Harvest Food Bank in Castlegar, Our Daily Bread, the Nelson Food Cupboard, and the Salvation Army in Nelson; Kate’s Kitchen in Trail, and Community Services in Salmo.
