A man convicted in a Fruitvale homicide has been sentenced.
Jordan Shimell received 5 years 10 and a half months in prison for fatally stabbing his uncle Scott Decembrini.
It happened in December 2014 while Shimell was staying with his uncle and aunt over the Christmas holidays.
Following a trial late last year a judge found Shimell not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter.
The judge said there was no motive for the crime or even any reason for Shimell to be upset with Decembrini.
However Shimell had been drinking heavily that day.
