A young Nelson man who has struggled with mental health issues says talking about it was a weight off his shoulders.
Tyler Exner spoke Monday at the kick-off event for the visit of Olympian Clara Hughes to our area later this month.
He says it was a few years before he felt comfortable telling his family doctor about it.
He says things have been much better since he opened up.
Hughes cycles into Nelson may 24th as part of a cross-Canada trip to reduce the stigma around mental illness.
