A by-election will be held to replace Kootenay-Columbia School District 20 board member Gavin Fox, who resigned on Dec. 18, 2023.
A media release from SD20 states that Fox was elected to the board of education in November 2022 and worked with the board to support the SD20 strategic plan.
The vacancy created by Fox’s resignation will prompt a by-election to fill the trustee position within Electoral Area 2 (City of Castlegar & part of Electoral Area J of RDCK).
The release says more information regarding the by-election, including dates and procedures, will be communicated to the community from SD20 – Kootenay Columbia and the City of Castlegar.
