UPDATED: Firefighters put out three Fruitvale fires in two days

Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire and Rescue has put out three fires Fruitvale in two days days, first snuffing a trailer and brush fire, then extinguishing a burning truck, and finally responding to a blaze on a parked boat.

The first fire Tuesday afternoon broke out in a trailer on Caughlin Road. Firefighters say it was knocked down quickly, but it spread to the bush and it took some time to fully put out. There is no word on the cause and no damage estimate.

Then, early this morning they responded to a burning flat deck truck loaded with firewood on Old Salmo Road.

They say they used foam and water to keep it from spreading to nearby buildings.

This afternoon they were called to a fire in a boat on a trailer on Lahue Road. They put it out before it could spread to any nearby structures, but say there was minor damage to three other trailers.

The cause of all three fires is under investigation.
