Men robbed on roadside west of Castlegar

Castlegar RCMP are looking for a motorcyclist accused of robbing two men on a pullout on Highway 3, about 10 to 15 minutes west of the city.

They say the robbery happened Thursday between 5 and 5:30 p.m. Two men heading east toward Castlegar stopped at the pullout and a motorcycle that was following did the same.

Police say the suspect approached the man demanding money and threatening violence. The man claimed he had a concealed gun, although it was not seen.

The man took an undisclosed amount of cash and then continued on east toward Castlegar. The two men weren’t physically injured.

The suspect is described as being an older white man, wearing no helmet. He had a bandana on his head, a black leather Harley Davidson vest, blue jeans and black boots. The motorcycle was described as being a Harley Davidson, but there were no further details.

RCMP are asking anyone with information or dash cam footage who was travelling on that stretch or road around that time to contact them at 250-365-7721.
