Canada is not immune to the real risks of climate change.
So says Nelson-based climate change Consultant Dr Mel Reasoner in light of the latest United Nations intergovernmental study highlighting the severe impacts on humanity.
As for the risk of complacency among many Canadians reasoner says this country has so far dodged a bullet when it comes to the extreme heat events that killed tens of thousands in some European cities this century.

Reasoner says while nations are not taking enough action to reduce carbon emissions, individual communities should continue to do their part to anticipate and adapt to climate change that is coming our way.
