Taxes on the rise in Trail

Over a quarter of the City of Trail’s budget is directed toward recreation and culture services.
Council unanimously approved the 2014 budget last week that’s worth approximately $14.4 million.
He says recreation forms the largest portion of the overall budget that the City takes up at 26%.
City Manager David Perehudoff explains that residents pay nearly $430 per capita for those services.
The owner of an average home in Trail will see an approximate $33 tax increase this year.
22 of those dollars are the result of Warfield and the Beaver Valley ending their recreation agreements with the Silver City.
