Castlegar Council Candidate: Bergen Price

Bergen Price is one of the council candidates running in Castlegar.  Airport reliability, infrastructure and health care are some of his platform items. He expands on what he wants to see for the Castlegar Health Centre. “24-hour support is, I believe, a huge obstacle for Castlegar. I know we don’t have too many seats on Interior Health, but I think as council we can definitely wave the flag and I’m willing to do that.”

He also wants to see work continue on infrastructure. He says water metres were something suggested in a 2009 study and could help bring some improvements.

After graduating from Stanley Humphries High School, Price pursued post secondary education elsewhere and is now as senior buyer at Celgar. He highlights some of his other experience.

“I have experience in Castlegar for a long, long time being on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Golf Course Board of Directors, I’ve run a chamber of commerce, I see what’s going on around the community, I see the great work that our current council has done and I’d like to join and be part of the conversation going forward.”

He’s also runs the Gentlemen’s Hockey League and organizes the Christmas Classic every year
