Seven Kootenay-Columbia school district trustees have been elected by acclamation, while five other candidates will run for the two remaining seats.
Those elected unopposed are incumbents Darrell Ganzert and Kim Mandoli (Beaver Valley), newcomers Catherinze Zaitsoff and Kristin Ali (Castlegar/Robson), incumbent Toni Driutti (Warfield/Area B of RDKB/Area J of RDCK), and Teri Ferworn (Areas I/J of RDCK).
The races will be in Trail where incumbents Terry Hanik and Mark Wilson are challenged by Ray Furlotte, and in Rossland, where incumbent Gord Smith faces Desiree Profili.
Nominations closed this afternoon. Voting day is Oct. 20.
