Another local business might help fill the void once Greyhound ends its operations. Queen City Shuttle and Charters in Nelson will be making an application to the Passenger Transportation Board as the company is considering providing service to Kelowna and Cranbrook.
Alain Shaincon is the general manager and owner and says it’s still in the early stages and many details have to be worked out. “If it’s valuable economically to do it all year round or just during the ski season, but we’d like to do it all year round. And we may have some financial partners that might help us get this off the ground.”
He says ideally he would like to run a daily shuttle that would stop in some of the other communities along the way to Kelowna, starting on November first.
He says the application should be available on the Passenger Transportation Board website for viewing next week.
Silver City Stage Lines in Trail has already made an application for service to Kelowna as well.
