The RCMP and BC Coroner’s Service have determined remains found in the Beasley Road area, west of Nelson, on Tuesday, May 8 to be human. The deceased and the cause of death will not be established until a forensic autopsy is completed. This death will be treated as suspicious until a forensic pathologist can confirm the cause of death. A date for the autopsy has not yet been scheduled.

RCMP investigating remains found near Beasley Road
The RCMP Southeast District Major Crimes Unit and Nelson RCMP are investigating the discovery of possible human remains found West of Nelson. Sergeant. Janelle Shoihet say they were found yesterday.
RCMP are saying there’s no danger to the public. The east entrance to Beasley Road is closed, residents can use the west entrance.
