Lightning strikes have triggered wildfires in the Boundary and West Kootenay.
And lightning is in the forecast for our region through Monday afternoon.

Fortunately the spot fires were accompanied by rain.
Given the dry conditions the south east fire centre is on standby with enough crews to respond to any lightning caused fires.
They also have light aircraft doing patrols after the storms go through.
A wildfire can be reported by dialling * 55-55 on your cell phone.
