Riding changes break common bonds:Tory rep

The changes to our federal electoral boundaries could make a big difference in next year’s election outcome.

So says former local Conservative candidate Stephen Hill when eyeing the new South Okanagan-West Kootenay riding.

He says based on voting trends last time the riding – which now excludes Nelson but has the strong Okanagan leaning – would go Conservative.

Speaking in Castlegar Hill says his job is to ensure the West Kootenay Boundary is not forgotten because people in Penticton for example aren’t even aware of the likes of Bridesville or Rock Creek.

Hill is not running in next year’s election for personal and professional reasons.
