Transit zones to be consolidated in 2017

Fare zones will be a thing of the past next year on West Kootenay Transit.

Committee chair and Castlegar mayor Lawrence Chernoff says they’ll consolidate three zones into one.

Chernoff says the new fare will be more expensive than the $2 currently charged for a single zone.

But it will be less than the present $3.50 for multiple zones.
