Local politicians lobby MPs on infrastructure

Local politicians have just returned from Ottawa where they met with MPs about infrastructure dollars.

Silverton’s Leah Main says they’d like to see a system of allocation rather than application.

That means they’d prefer to receive annual funds on a per capita basis.

The federal government has promised $81 billion in infrastructure spending over 11 years.

Also on the trip were Nelson mayor Deb Kozak and RDCK chair Karen Hamling.
