The Columbia Basin Trust board of directors has appointed Johnny Strilaeff as its new president and CEO.
Strilaeff has been with the Trust since 2005, most recently as vice-president and chief operating officer.
Strilaeff moves into the position following the unexpected passing of long-time president and CEO Neil Muth this month.
Chair Rick Jensen says while Strilaeff takes over in difficult circumstances they have full confidence in him.
Strilaeff says he joined the organization the same week as Muth and learned a lot from him.
Strilaeff is a Castlegar native and a graduate of Selkirk College and the University of Calgary.
His appointment is effective immediately.
