Creston valley hospital benefits from endowment fund

Money donated locally for the Creston Valley Hospital will now be staying within the area.

The Creston­-Kootenay foundation has created a fund that allows donations to bypass a trip to Cranbrook and be given directly to the hospital.

Treasurer Ted Hutchinson says keeping the money close to home benefits everyone.

Hutchinson says any money given to the fund is kept intact cumulatively, and the interest earned on it is given to the hospital each year.
