Now that autumn has arrived, the Castlegar Station Museum wants to celebrate changing weather, food from the fields and all things harvest. Join us for Harvest at the Station on October 3rd from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm.
The market will move from its usual starting time of 9:00 am to a start time of 12:00 noon. There will be a variety of vendors offering vegetables, baking, arts and crafts, hot food and more. In addition, there will be live music from singer/songwriter Sarah Orton and drumming from Lance Ledger. This will be the last farmers market of the season so be sure to come out and get items from your favourite vendors.
At the Station Museum in the courtyard, the Castlegar & District Heritage Society is offering fun and games for the whole family to mark the end of a fabulous season at the Museum. The activities will include a pie auction, traditional hot cider made from fresh apples, a photo booth, traditional kids’ games and more! The Heritage Society will also offer a 50/50 draw, with tickets on sale the day of the event at both the market and at the Museum.
These two events combined will offer an afternoon of entertainment in celebration of the harvest season. The next generation will get introduced to some of the screen-free games that their grandparents and great-grandparents might have enjoyed. It will be a great opportunity to come and meet old friends and make some new ones.
We thank all sponsors of Harvest at the Station including Columbia Power Corporation, Linden Lane Farms and Trowelex.
The Station Museum will be closing for the season on October 17th and Chapel House on Zuckerberg Island will close the next day, on October 18th. The Castlegar & District Heritage Society is proud of the staff, board and volunteers who have made the season at both sites so successful.
