Truth and Reconciliation Day is a time for remembrance, learning, and action. We honour residential school Survivors and the children who never came home, recognize the ongoing impacts on families and communities, and commit to the ongoing work of reconciliation.

At 10:30 a.m., the Circle of Indigenous Nations Society (COINS) invites the community to wear orange shirts and join the Every Child Matters walk from the Sandman Hotel to the COINS location at 1801 Connors Road, Castlegar.

The Orange Shirt Day gathering will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The story of Phyllis Webstad will be shared, and community members will have an opportunity to share stories, songs, and prayers in the tipi. Indigenous vendors will be present, and orange shirts will be available for purchase.

All are welcome to join us in remembering, learning, and coming together.
