New Trail memoir anthology coming in June

The Trail Museum and Archives will host a book launch for A Trail to Remember Volume 2 on Sunday, June 14 at Gyro Park in East Trail. The 400-page publication includes 159 submitted stories on themes like neighbourhoods, childhood, education, sports, and impact.

“The book resulted from two years of local outreach and engagement, and will be unveiled on the city’s actual 125th anniversary of incorporation,” says the city’s museum, archives, and visitor centre manager, Sarah Benson-Lord. “It’s a compilation of stories and memories that reflect Trail’s past.”

“This project required considerable perseverance, as we relied on the generosity and willingness of our community,” says co-editor John D’Arcangelo. “Compiling these stories has allowed me to connect and reconnect with Trail residents, both previous and current.”

Books will first be available for purchase at the event from 12 to 3 p.m., followed by the Trail Museum and Archives gift shop and local book retailers. Attendees can expect a free slice of cake, an opportunity to engage with the city, a book signing with D’Arcangelo, and more.

The first volume of A Trail to Remember was published in 2015.
