Stage 3 water restrictions to be imposed in Rossland

The City of Rossland will move to Stage 3 water restrictions on Sept. 25.

The city said the measure is intended to ensure enough water remains in its reservoirs as the region experiences unusually warm weather.

Under Stage 3 restrictions, hand-watering, drip and micro-irrigation are allowed only on alternating days between 7 and 9 a.m. or 7 and 9 p.m.

The use of lawn and underground sprinklers, and the filling of outdoor pools, hot tubs or decorative fountains, is prohibited.

No restrictions apply to watering gardens and fruit trees for personal use, or livestock in rural-use zones, though the city encouraged conservation.
