Trail man sentenced for hidden camera incident

Garrit Charlie Ciardullo, the man who was found guilty of placing a hidden camera in the women’s changing room at the Beaver Valley Arena in November of 2022, has been sentenced.

Ciardullo, now 23, appeared in Rossland Provincial Court on January 3, 2025, where he was handed a six-month Community Sentence Order followed by 18 months of probation.

At the time of the incident, Ciardullo was working at the Beaver Valley Arena in Fruitvale when he set up a cellphone, set to record, in the women’s change room.

Girls preparing for hockey practice noticed the phone and told a parent, who seized it and contacted the RCMP.

Global News reported in October that Ciardullo pleaded guilty to one count of secretly observing or recording for a sexual purpose in May of 2024.
