Kootenay ridings see just over 31,000 residents vote early

Residents in the Kootenay area have already begun voting ahead of the provincial election.

According to Elections BC, as of October 14, Boundary-Similkameen, Columbia River-Revelstoke, Kootenay-Central, Kootenay-Monashee, and Kootenay-Rockies has had an advance voting turnout of 31, 282.

  • Boundary-Similkameen 8,589
  • Columbia River-Revelstoke 4,958
  • Kootenay-Central 5,749
  • Kootenay-Monashee 5,608
  • Kootenay-Rockies 6,377

This is out of a total of 165,386 registered voters in the five ridings.

Province-wide, Elections BC says Thursday, October 10, had the most votes ever on an advanced voting day in a BC election.

In total, 596,755 BC residents have voted between October 10 and 13, with advanced voting still available on the 15 and 16.

The provincial general voting day is on Saturday, October 19.
