Peter Defeo named Nelson Citizen of the Year

Nelson’s Citizen of the Year is life-long resident Peter Defeo.

The Knights of Columbus award goes to a man who has served the community in a variety of ways.

Defeo (pictured above with wife Mary) has been an auxiliary firefighter in town for almost 40 years, and a part-time paramedic for over 20.

And just to mix things up he’s also a long time member of the city’s brass band.

The 56-year-old will be honored at an event later this month.
