RCMP say a 43-year-old Pass Creek man has died after his jeep went over an embankment.
When he failed to return from a social outing on Tuesday evening, his friends went looking for him the next day on Ladybird Forest Service Road.
They found tire tracks going over a 150-foot (45-meter) embankment, and then spotted an extensively damaged Jeep in a stream at the bottom of the hill.
RCMP, the BC Coroners Service, and Castlegar Search and Rescue responded and found the man dead.
Police say evidence at the scene suggests the Jeep rolled multiple times before coming to rest in the stream. The man, who was the lone occupant, was thrown from the vehicle.
RCMP are helping the BC Coroners Service with the investigation to determine contributing factors in the crash and are asking anyone with information to call them.
