Investigators suspect fall into river in Tayes death

As we await the coroner’s report RCMP have been trying to piece together the last moments of Paul Tayes.

He was the camper who was found in the west arm of Kootenay Lake last week.

Sgt Mike Wicentovich with the General Investigation Section says nothing appears abnormal.

He figures this was just a tragic accident that happened soon after he checked into Kokanee Creek Park.


…Wicentovich says those missing truck keys did initially raise some questions but they were found on the body.

He figures the 56 year old may have fallen or slipped from the river bank.

He’d been missing for a week.
