Rebels Acquire Reinforcements in Three Separate Deals

Fresh off a disappointing weekend, the Castlegar Rebels are mixing it up.

The team has acquired defenseman Cade McNeil-Roberts and goaltender Cedric Lesieur in separate deals with Grand Forks and Nanaimo respectively.

McNeil-Roberts – an eighteen year old from Calgary – has been held scoreless through five games this season.

He’s described as a mobile defenseman with good passing skills.

Lesieur will count against the Rebels’ 20 year olds, and is expected to compete for starts

The Quebec-native has a .923 save percentage so far this season with the Buccaneers.

The club also welcomed diminutive forward Colby Winia from the Columbia Valley Rockies.

The 5’9″ 190 lb Albertan is said to play a physical game with “moxie” and possess a good shot.

He’s been held scoreless through four games this season.

In a separate move, local lad Brandon Costa is headed east to play for the St. Stephens Aces of the MJAHL.

He’ll join former Rebels forward Everett Hicks and ex-coach Bill Rotheisler.
