Castlegar wins Communities in Bloom Class of Champions

The City of Castlegar was announced as the Communities in Bloom Class of Champions Winner over the weekend. They were competing in the Small category against four other communities, including Trail.

Trained volunteer judges traveled to the communities this summer. Their criteria included Tidiness, Environmental Action, Heritage Conservation, Urban Forestry, Landscape, and Floral Displays.

Castlegar also received a special mention for Volunteer Involvement at the Awards Ceremony which was held in Alberta. Trail was recognized for Teck Environmental Stewardship and Financial Support.
