Making headway in the Nelson pepper-spray robbery

Nelson’s Chief of Police says his investigators are confident they will bring someone into custody soon regarding the pepper-spray robbery in Rosemont last week.

Wayne Holland does not want to get into details, but he says his officers are following up very tangible leads.

This after a hooded man and woman used the spray on the owner of star grocery before running off with cash and cigarettes.

As for the motive?

Holland says Nelson is still a safe community but there has been an increase in drug-related crime the last 18 months.

He says any small business looking to better prepare their premises and staff can contact the police department for advice.
