Lake search continues with US-based specialists

Despite being sent home over the long weekend, Vernon Search and Rescue are on standby in the effort to find three young men thought to have drowned in Slocan Lake.

This from Search Manager Pete Wise who says local RCMP decided to scale back their crew after 10 days had gone by without any success.

 

Vernon SAR had brought a special remote underwater vehicle to help in the search.

The family has hired a private Wisconsin based company that has similar equipment on site Tuesday.

The three young men went missing after the canoe they were in capsized on May 10th.

A young woman was found in the canoe but later died in hospital.
