Local NDP candidate’s personal relationship with Trudeau

A personal relationship didn’t translate into a political endorsement for the NDP candidate in Kootenay-Ccolumbia.

Wayne Stetski has known Liberal leader Justin Trudeau since his brother died in Kokanee Glacier Park in 1998.

Stetski was then a BC Parks manager and the two worked on a campaign to build a new cabin in Michel’s memory.

Stetski hoped to receive Trudeau’s backing despite being from a different party but it didn’t happen.

Don Johnston will run for the Liberals in the riding and Stetski says he’s not surprised.
