It was a harrowing hour for a Fruitvale couple.
A woman called RCMP immediately after realizing her little girl had wandered away from their rural property on Webster Rd.
Several RCMP officers fanned out throughout the area at around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday May 5.
An alert neighbour noticed the six-year-old on his security camera’s motion detector and called police.
She was found in good spirits, unharmed and quite happy to be playing with toys left in the neighbour’s yard.
RCMP took the little girl home to her very relieved mum and dad.
Detachment Commander Mike Wicentowich called her successful return home a team effort and an ironically enjoyable experience for the young lady.
“Trail RCMP would like to thank everyone who assisted in locating the girl,” he said.
“The ride home in the police vehicle proved to be fun for the girl as she quickly figured out how to turn the on the emergency lights and siren,” Wicentowich quipped.
