RCMP investigate multiple break and enters

Castlegar RCMP are investigating three separate reports of break and enter to residential sheds as thieves make off with a number of stolen tools.

Police say the thefts took place on Sunday night, into Monday morning, and on Wednesday morning, in the area of the 2100 block Columbia Avenue and 1500 block of Hunter Place in Castlegar, BC.

Two of the sheds were forcefully entered, with one having the lock cut off and the second shed having is plastic locking mechanism melted, most likely with torch lighter.

The third followed on May 7 at approximately 2:30am, where a home owner in the 100 block of 5th Avenue interrupted a suspect breaking a lock on their backyard shed.

The home owner yelled at the suspect who fled on foot.

The suspect was described as a male, being approximately 5’10 feet in height, gaunt in the face and wearing a leather jacket.

The stolen items consisted of a battery DeWalt impact driver and brad nailer, socket set, Kreg pocket jig and a new wooden planter in a box.
