Advanced voting for SD20 trustee by-election opens Wednesday

Advanced voting in the by-election to fill the vacant spot on the Kootenay-Columbia School District 20 board of trustees begins this week.

Voting will run from 8:00 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Apr. 10 and 17 at the Castlegar & District Community Complex, with general voting day scheduled for Apr. 20.

Four candidates are in the running to fill the currently empty trustee spot for Electoral Area 2, which represents the City of Castlegar and RDCK Electoral Area J on the SD20 school board.

The four names on the ballot include Jennifer Burton and Birkley Valks of Castlegar, Emily Duggan of Crescent Valley, and Lindsay Kenny of Fruitvale.

The vote is only open to residents within the City of Castlegar and SD20’s Electoral Area 2.
