Emily Michalchuk named new Trail Smoke Eaters trainer

The Trail Smoke Eaters have named Emily Michalchuk as the team’s new certified athletic therapist and trainer.

Michalchuk joins the Trail Smoke Eaters for their first season in the BCHL, having graduated from Camosun College in 2022. Originally from Victoria, Michalchuk has been living and working in Edmonton, since completing their studies.

In Edmonton, Michalchuk worked as an athletic therapist at MacEwan University and with the CEBL’s Edmonton Stingers. They are also bringing in hockey experience, having worked with teams in the CSSHL, HSL, and KIJHL.

“I’m excited to be joining the Trail Smoke Eaters,” Michalchuk said in a news release.

“>I have heard nothing but good things about the team and amazing fans, and I’m happy that I get to be part of this community. I’m looking forward to a great season and all the fun and thrilling challenges it will bring.”

Former Smokies trainer Joseph De Marco is returning to his home province of Ontario.
