Castlegar rain 10% of normal in July

How dry was it last month in Castlegar?

The weather office at the Southeast Fire Centre says only five millimeters of rain fell compared to the typical 48.1, or about 10 per cent.

That all came on the 10th and the 12th. Only trace amounts (less than 0.2 millimeters) were observed the rest of the month.

That still fell short of the record low in July 1985 when virtually no rain fell. Total July rainfall has been below average for each of the last 10 years.

The average temperature for the month of 22.8 degrees was 2.6 degrees above average.

The highest temperature of the month was 37.7 on the 21st, which fell well short of the all-time mark for July of 41.8 set on July 1, 2021.

The lowest temperature was 7.5 on the 3rd.

No daily records were broken.
