Trail pedestrian victim ID'd

One of the two pedestrians struck by a vehicle in Trail last week has died from her injuries.

She was 68 year old Carla Vivian Evans of Trail.

The other woman walking with her Tuesday night is in hospital. Ms Evans had been transferred to Kelowna General from KBRH soon after the incident.

The BC Coroner says the women were crossing Second Avenue at Robertson Street when they were hit.

RCMP are investigating and say alcohol, distracted driving and speed are not factors. Police said at the time it was dark and a local business owner says that part of the street is not well lit.
