Vehicle vandalized in Warfield

RCMP arrested a 24-year-old Montrose man for denting and damaging the side mirror of a vehicle in the 300 block of Montcalm Road in Warfield.

They were called Sunday at 6 a.m. and found the man a little ways away, where he was arrested. They think he was drunk at the time. He was held until he sobered up.

Police are recommending the man be charged with mischief. He’ll be in court July 20.

Runaway boat recovered

An unmanned 20-foot jet boat was reported floating down the Columbia River near Sunningdale on Sunday morning.

The boat slipped into a back eddy near the Victoria Street Bridge where firefighters recovered it.

The owner came to get it. He said the boat slipped away from his dock after a rope came loose.

Drug trafficker reports stolen drugs

Police say they responded to a break and enter in the 700 block of Drakes Roads in Rossland on Saturday afternoon.

A 28-year-old man said someone stole his cannabis and mushrooms while he was away. He admitted to selling small amounts and suspected it could have been a rival drug trafficker.

Police told him they couldn’t help.

120 in a 70 zone

A 24-year-old Robson man has been issued with a $368 ticket for excessive speeding after being caught in a muscle car doing 120 km/h in a 70 zone.

They say he was stopped Sunday afternoon on Highway 22 near Stoney Creek Road, which is the turnoff to Tadanac.

His Dodge Challenger was impounded for up to a week.
