Blueberry faces lengthy traffic delays

Major work to the only overpass into the community will cause Blueberry residents lengthy traffic disruptions.

That’s why Castlegar city council is trying to talk to the Ministry of Transportation to bring down potential closures that are currently estimated at up to an hour long.

Councillor Dan Rye says certain infrastructure has to be replaced under the crossing, which will make it unusuable for drivers.

Rye believes the work could start after this month but suggests it be pushed back to school summer break when there might be less traffic disruptions.
