Call for 24/7 ER service in Castlegar rejected

It’s been more than a decade since Castlegar’s Emergency Room was reduced to 12 hours per day.
But Regional Director Gord Zaitsoff hasn’t given up on trying to have it restored to round-the-clock care.
He introduced a Hospital Board motion to that effect last week although it didn’t pass.
Even with limited hours Castlegar’s ER receives about 10,000 visits a year.
